A cafe based in Knebworth, nr Stevenage, Hertfordshire, Val's Kitchen provides great home cooked food including breakfasts, jacket potatoes, burgers, sandwiches & baps in a clean and friendly environment. We are conveniently situated within 2 minutes walk from the railway station and in close proximity to the doctors surgery.
About Us
For nearly 20 years Val & Roger owned a factory in Stevenage manufacturing electronics. In 2003 they “retired”. 6 months later, having done all the jobs at home that they didn’t get around to, both decided that they missed the social contact that was part of their working lives. Val got a job at a local garden centre in the restaurant and Roger at a Marina in Bedford.
A further 3 years down the line and they were frustrated at the way their respective new careers were going. The only way forward was to go back to working together again. After a long search Val & Roger bought the Knebworth Village Café in July 2007 and renamed it Val’s Kitchen. Val’s experience and a lifelong interest in cooking culminates in the menu at the café. From time to time she likes to experiment with different dishes such as the latest home made Chilli Jacket Potato, but she will always be happy to cook the traditional breakfast.
